About Us
The pieces you're looking for really exist. Trained in set and costume design, Marika combined talent and initiative: with a domestic sewing machine, a pair of fisherman's trousers to mend, and a lovely stall on the seafront of Procchio (Elba Island), and here we are 21 years later with the same passion but a lot more experience. Certified Artisan Excellence since 2012, occasionally lent to theatre, an expert in problem-solving from the everyday to the special event. For her, every need of yours is a challenge to take on. Everything starts from her hands.
Maison Guida is one of the few independent clothing brands left in Turin. The atelier is the heart of everything: in Piazza Vittorio Veneto it welcomes customers and designs garments by hand and in 3D, while the workshop on Lungo Po Antonelli brings the garments to life. Besides the fabrics we select from the best Italian and European suppliers, we use buttons from the historic F.lli Bonfanti of Turin and zips from Goffredo Zip in Puglia.
Every body is different and every garment is designed for a body. Models are often named after the customer: Luisa owns several Luisa Jackets. Elena, too, loves our jackets, but we dedicated a denim dress to her. Giuseppe magnificently wore our sweatshirt tailcoat, and we named our Beppe trousers after him — Valentina's favourites. With us, people really matter, and the fit works because the design is never generic.
Behind the scenes, John takes care of the website, photography and the digital side. Viv handles marketing. There are few of us, we produce just what's needed, we think big but want to stay small, because we believe it's an advantage for us and for the environment.
