Piazza Vittorio Veneto stays alive all summer. The city empties, but something better happens: the people who love Turin stay put, and the events get more interesting. Walk to the water's edge, grab a drink, stay late. The week ahead is full.

Events: 12–18 September

Inaugurazione Via Roma pedonale — Via Roma, Sat 12 Sep, from 18:30. The newly pedestrianised Via Roma opens with a city-wide street party. Live music, street theatre, open-air cinema, and dance. Palazzo Madama, MAO, Museo Egizio, and the Musei Reali all open late with free or reduced entry. The ribbon drops at 18:30. The whole street turns into a stage.
Salone Auto Torino 2026 — Piazza Castello and Giardini Reali, through Sun 13 Sep, 9:00–19:00. Forty-seven brands showing around ninety cars across the open-air exhibition. Free test drives from corso San Maurizio. Supercar Meeting at the Reggia di Venaria on Saturday morning, then a parade into the city. Free entry.
Tennis and Friends — Salute e Sport — Parco del Valentino, through Sun 13 Sep, 10:00–18:00. Free health screenings across more than thirty specialities, plus tennis and pickleball for all ages. The Villaggio della Salute is open to everyone. Veronica Maya hosting on Saturday. Free entry.
Gran Balon — Borgo Dora, Sun 13 Sep, 8:00–18:00. The monthly antiques and flea market. Vintage furniture, rare books, vinyl, and the best people-watching in the city. Ten minutes on foot from the piazza through the old Roman quarter.
MITO SettembreMusica — Various venues, through Sun 20 Sep. The 20th edition of Turin and Milan's shared music festival, this year under the theme Harmonia. This week: Omaggio a Piazzolla at the Conservatorio (Sat 12, €7), KAOS by Paola Prestini with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra at Auditorium Rai (Sat 12, from €10), and Rossini's Stabat Mater at Chiesa di San Filippo Neri (Thu 17, free).
Torinodanza Festival — Fonderie Limone, Via Pastrengo 88, Moncalieri, through 11 Oct. International contemporary dance in a converted foundry. Christos Papadopoulos' The Lion and The Wolf (Sat 12, Sun 13), then Viola Scaglione's Secondo quarto di luna and Hofesh Shechter's In The Brain (Thu 17–Sat 19). From €7.

Markets

Sat 12 Sep: Balon, the regular Saturday market in Borgo Dora, 8:00–18:00. Antiques, collectibles, and second-hand everything.
Sun 13 Sep: Gran Balon. The monthly expanded version. More stalls, more antiques, more reasons to stay for lunch.

Looking ahead

Terra Madre Salone del Gusto returns to Turin for its 16th edition, 24–27 September. The international Slow Food festival takes over the centro storico — Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Castello, Via Roma, and right here in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Free entry. A producer market winds through the streets, alongside Taste Workshops, Presìdi Slow Food, and more than 1,500 delegates from 120 countries. The theme: Biodiversity — Be Diversity. The stalls are already going up. Terra Madre Off runs 21–28 September across Turin and Piedmont.
